This is a good example of a school front cover. You can see taht it has both been created by hand and by computer for the title. This student or teacher thought it would be good if the showed the school uniform and the schools colours. I think that this magazine is aimed at a young audience although it should really be aimed at the parents of the pupils. he creater has decided on putting the school crest on the front cover which seems very appropriate as it is a magazine all about the school. Altogether i find this magazine front cover colourful and eyecatching but could be more professional because some people may get the idea that the school doesn't care about it's image.

How I created my contents page

To create my contents page I used a software on a apple Mac G4 called adobe photoshop, this allows you to do funky things to photos and create very professionl peices of work. At first I had to go and take a photo of the main college building unfortunatly on the day the weather was terrible so obviously I had to change the colour of the background. To do this I went on to IMAGE went down to SELECT then click on Image then all i did was change the brightness of the image. I then realised I couldn't really have an image that was black and white becuase it wouldn't have looked very presentable and also the photo being black and white wasn't part of my plan for the contents page. To change the colour I had to select layer then shade, and i selected black because I didn't want my contents to look dark and grim, i wanted it to look bright so that it would make the school like bright and beautiful. I chose to distort the image of the college to make it look funky not for the parents of the pupils but for the pupils themselves, it makes the contents very eyecatching and draws them in to reading the contents page.

I have chosen as you can see my school magazine. the magazine itself is aimed at pupils and there parents to tell them all the great achievments the school has done over the past year.

i created my magazine on an apple mac G4 using adobe photoshop. the first step to the creation of my magazine was to take a photo the college, i then uploaded the photo onto the apple mac because it was a miserable day when i took the photo i had to use special effects to make the college look nice. I eventually decided to make the front cover the school colours which are yellow and black. To make the college building the way it is i used an effect called photocopier which made the photo black and white. I then changed the brightness so i could see the distinctive difference of colour in the photo, so that i could select the white or black parts of the building and change the colours of them. As you can see i decided to change the white parts of the photo. I find that the colours make the photo look vintage and very stylish. I then changed the colour of the background to make the frontcover very eyecatching, also it makes teh whole front cover the same as the school colours. For our frontcover we had to include a student in medium close up. For my photo I chose a model student of teh college who looks very samrt and presentable. If i had a student that looked very scruffy and untidy the reader would have given the impression that the school wasn't very good and didn't care about there appearence. I thought my front cover would look better if the photo of the student looked the same as the building. So I uploaded the photo from the camera on to teh apple mac and magnetic lassoed around the student and then copied and pasted onto the main frontcover. I did exactly teh same with the student as i did with the building. For the main title of the magazine i chose a very old yet stylish font and obviously used a black colour to make it the same colour as the school colours. My motto was 'History in the Making' i thought this would be good as the building itself is history and possibly the students themself may make history.
